So, are The Hunger Games movies safe for kids to watch?
Children? No.
Teens? Yes.
You are probably not going to want to let your young kids watch any of The Hunger Games movies because of the innate violence and gore-y aspects of the films.
All you’ll end up doing is make them cry. So many secondary characters die in these films. One of the dead was a quite young girl and creates a mildly disturbing sequence of events starting in The Hunger Games and continuing into The Hunger Games: Catching Fire.
And it really doesn’t matter which movie you pick…
The Hunger Games, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, and The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 and 2 contain nearly identical amounts of violence and blood.
While there is plenty of violence and blood, the romantic adult aspects of The Hunger Game films are pretty subdued. Some kissing, light nudity, you know that whole show to keep the rating low so Hollywood can get more $$$.
