So it seems GameNerdz.com sold out of Prismatic Evolutions ETBs inside of a day. They join the Pokemon Center in selling out real quick. It’s going to be hard for your average person to actually get their hands on Prismatic Evolutions product at the pace we’re going!
So that means that GameStop is basically the place for you to order Pokemon Prismatic Evolutions products. BestBuy is temporarily sold out, the Pokemon Center is sold out, GameNerdz is temporarily sold out, etc.
The hype is very real with the Prismatic Evolutions special set. Whether this is a knock on effect from 151 being so scarce and valuable, with people smelling big money for Prismatic Evolutions product, I have no idea. It may simply be because it is a special set and will ultimately have a limited print run. Scalpers and hoarders may be betting that the limited print run will cause prices to skyrocket. I imagine we’re going to see scalpers decimate retail stores that have any stock of Prismatic Evolutions product, leaving none for kids and the average person.
This may be a set that parents will want to skip simply because of the probable sheer cost of Prismatic Evolutions product. It’s just not going to be worth it. Are you really going to pay double or triple MSRP for some shiny cardboard? I wouldn’t.
But good news! From what I hear GameNerdz.com generally sells product in tranches, or “waves”, when it comes to pre orders and a restock is likely. Whether they do that to gauge demand or because they’re getting in waves of product rather than lump deliveries I have no idea.
What I do know is that the price of ETBs for pre order may go up as more and more stores see demand go through the roof. They’re going to want to capture more money for the same product because of that demand.
So not only is it going to continue to be difficult to order Prismatic Evolutions product, you’re likely going to pay more for it, and if you try to find it retail you simply won’t find it because scalpers have already taken everything!
Prismatic Evolutions is going to be a big set. The attention is all on Surging Sparks right now but once Prismatic Evolutions hit I think that is going to change fast. Like I’ve said before, get your orders in as fast as you possibly can!
