It turns out my first instinct was wrong!
Projected ticket sales for the weekend are at a little over $100 million US.
Personally, I’d be expecting to see $120 million US as the weekend ends…

Ticket sales for Mockingjay Part 2 came in right at the original estimate of $100 million in the United States and ~ about $400 million world wide.
Ultimately that’s still a big fat wad of cash for a movie that supposedly cost about $160 million to produce.
The real shocking thing is people are talking as if they’re disappointed that Mockingjay Part 2 didn’t earn more, as if they’re entitled to more money, as if the value of art has to be what they feel it is and is not dependent on the person consuming the art. But hey, people do lose sight of the reality of things when money is involved…
Oh well, Mockingjay Part 2 may not have been a great film but it’s still damn good business regardless of how pouty Hollywood executives get.

ONLY 100 million
Only
Yes Mockingjay ONLY brought in 100 million…
Hahaha I’m not sure Drake can even do that on the first day.
So the movie made back 2/3 of its costs in a single weekend?
