🤔🤔🤔
There I was thinking, ‘oh cool we’ll get to see some emergency tear downs of nikon lenses‘… how naïve I am…
The article on DPReview, owned by Amazon if you weren’t aware, is not about what Nikon’s staff can do… it isn’t about their skills or the neat insides of lenses…
The PyeongChang Winter Olympics offers a chance for athletes to shine on the world’s most prestigious stage, but it’s equally as important an event for the hundreds of professional photographers covering the proceedings. In order to capture the most critical sporting moments, they need everything – camera position, angle and timing – to come together at once. This is no place for gear trouble, and that’s where Nikon Professional Services (NPS) comes in.

It’s an advertisement for Nikon Professional Services.
And a dull one at that.
The entire article can be summed up as ‘Nikon has a repair center at a lot of major events, buy into professional services‘.
That’s it.
At least they were good enough to note that it’s sponsored content. That’s certainly good… much better than the numerous instagram ‘influencers’ who don’t seem to understand they’re breaking the law by not stating they are compensated for their product posts…
Anyways, stupid stuff is stupid and the only people who apparently will ever bother to show us cool stuff is LensRentals…
The only image that is even close to being technical is an employee cleaning a lens… and then it legitimately seems they’re purposely hiding the insides of lenses…
