Prismatic Evolutions Product Prices May Come Crashing Down to Earth

Prismatic Evolutions product prices may come crashing down to earth the second that products become available on release day at MSRP. There will be no point to paying $100 for an ETB if you can get and ETB for $50.

I’m betting that there will be quite a bit of product available on release day and that retailers like Target and GameStop are going to restock and restock and restock Prismatic Evolutions products as people keep showing up to buy it.

However I do not think that small local games and card stores will get much stock at all and probably won’t get priority when it comes to restocking. I think this may be a large retailer thing and that distributors / vendors will be prioritizing GameStop and Target and I guess Walmart.

I think Prismatic Evolutions product will be on store shelves periodically for a good amount of time. I also think that The Pokemon Company has learned from 151 and has printed more product to start out with. And I’ve already said that I think that The Pokemon Company will reprint both 151 and Prismatic Evolutions.

But I also believe that prices for Prismatic Evolutions products will be higher than MSRP on the secondary market. I imagine that prices will come down from the recent highs but not all the way down to MSRP. Which is okay I guess.

I also think local game and card stores are going to try to charge secondary market prices for the inventory they do get, like $80 for a binder collection, while simultaneously Target is charging $30. That part of the Prismatic Evolutions release just is not going to work. Pricing is going to end up being weir as heck.

I’m being pretty optimistic here but hey, in insane times like these some extra optimism is nice.

Ultimately I’m not 100% sure on where we’re going to end up product availability wise or price wise. But I do think it’ll all end up better than expected. And if I’m wrong, well, things are going to suck pretty hard. Let’s hope for a happy New Year.
