Prismatic Evolutions pull rates may not be too great. I say that because in a video posted to YouTube a YouTuber opened over 100 packs and got zero good pulls.
While this is not a large enough sample size to say much it is a bit concerning. Statistically you would’ve expected maybe one nice card. That of course isn’t exactly how things work.
Just because a card has a 1 in 85 chance of being pulled from a pack, that does not in fact mean that you will pull one if you open 85 packs. You may pull that card in the first 5 packs or it may take 250 packs to pull the card you’re wanting. It’s just how it works.
So when you’re opening Prismatic Evolutions just remember it’s just as possible for you to get lucky as it is for you to get unlucky, while at the same time you’re beholden to statistics. In other words you can pull your chase in 5 packs, or 500 packs, all while the statistic says it’s 1 in 100.
Everyone was either guessing Prismatic Evolutions would be another Crown Zenith and have high pull rates while others had been suggesting it would have horrible pull rates. We’re really going to find out on Friday but the preliminary says it’s the horrible pull rates option that we’re going to get.
I don’t know why The Pokemon Company would make it even harder to get nice cards but that’s the direction we seem to be going. I’d hope The Glory of Team Rocket wouldn’t have horrible pull rates too but I don’t know… maybe The Pokemon Company has chosen to squeeze even more revenue out of hobbyists.
Anyway, I don’t know what’s happening. We’ll just have to see how things go on Friday.
