So here’s a big surprise… and I say that without sarcasm… Sony has real discounts on its lenses and DSLRs right now for Black Friday and Cyber Monday.
Real discounts… not fake marketing bullsquirt discounts…

Sony DSLR & Lens Pricing
The a6000 is listed at $448 for the body only which is between a $50 – $100 discount to the normal price. I highly suggest you skip any bundles, accessories or lenses, because they are both often low quality. Instead take some of the savings and purchase a new quality lens. The Sony 50mm f/1.8 is even on sale and is a great starter lens.
The 50mm f/1.8 lens is listed at $248 which is $50 less than its regular price. This lens’ price really doesn’t bounce around that much and this is an okay deal. Not great, but okay.
The Sonnar 35mm f/2.8 pancake lens is listed at $698 which is $100 less than its regular price. This is in fact a sale… but the lens is regularly put on sale for that price. If you skip it now you’ll be able to get it for the same price in a few months.
The 18 – 105mm f/4 APS-C lens is on sale for $548… which is a real discount of $50. I have never seen it discounted so this is surprising. I talked about the 18 – 105mm lens awhile ago if you want to learn more about the lens…
The 85mm f/1.8 prime lens is also on sale, $50 off the normal price, which is really surprising considering how new the lens is… Sony really doesn’t discount new lenses. I’d say they’re aiming to get that lens under some new / hobbyist photographers trees….
The 90mm f/2.8 macro has up until recently never been discounted… $100 off is the most its been discounted so $998 is a fairly good deal. It’s reviews are also superb and is the only premium macro lens Sony currently offers for E-mount.
Another lens that is never really discounted, but is now, is the 70 – 200mm f/4… $100 off, while not a huge discount, is the best you’re likely to get on this lens. I really don’t see this lens dropping in price anytime soon so now might be your chance to buy.
Ultimately the discounts Sony is offering are not huge, but unlike Canon, the discounts are real… These are actual reductions in the normal selling price… if you were looking for actual Black Friday / Cyber Monday steals than Sony has delivered for you.
A side note… not only can you get the a6000 for a shockingly low price you can also purchase the a7, a full frame camera, for only $800.
As always... I am in no way compensated by B&H or really anybody for this article...
