Singapore Initiates $740 Million AI Investment Plan

Singapore’s plan to invest more than $743 million into artificial intelligence over the next five years could strengthen its position as a global business and innovation hub, tech executives said.

As part of the investment, Singapore will work to ensure it can secure access to the advanced chips “that are so crucial to AI development and deployment,” Wong said.

A note…

So another entity throwing money at AI. Add it to the extensive list.

Singapore is embracing AI through multiple government initiatives and seems poised to succeed in becoming an AI hub due to those initiatives and their outsized data center sector.

Adding hundreds of million to the chase for AI chips will certainly add fuel to the global fire. I wonder if they’re going after ARM chips or Nvidia’s GPUs.
