Personally I found it a little sad that the bird people here were stuck on a line of thought that basically boils down to “BIRDS GOOD. BIRDS MORE IMPORTANT. WE SPENT MONEY ON BIRDS. BIRDS.”

Holy cow… That seems incredibly cruel… Taking tortoises and flipping them over in the holds of your ships!?!

They killed thousands of goats and didn’t harvest the meat!? We’re talking about millions of pounds of meat being wasted. Just wasted.
I think it’s pretty damn inappropriate to be wasting so much.
