The Costco Raids for Pokemon Tins Continue

The Costco raids for Pokemon tins continue in the United States. People absolutely love these Costco’s tin boxes! Too much so apparently.

I made a post previously highlighting some unruly behavior of scalpers, hoarders, and seemingly random people at a Costco store… they were all going for Costco’s 151 Pokemon tin boxes. And tearing the place up in the process.

Well that behavior seems to be continuing…

How can I invest when it’s all gone

It’s not a video of people tearing apart a pallet of boxes but it illustrates the point. People are going nuts for these 151 tin boxes.

I honestly don’t know how people are affording to spend $38 per box while buying 40 boxes at a time. That’s $1520 before tax. And you and I both know this is not their only Pokemon purchase. I get that scalpers are looking to make a quick buck and hoarders are looking to make a slow buck… but come on. We’re talking about cardboard here. This isn’t Nvidia stock.

And this isn’t the end of it you know. There are going to be more Costco raids for Pokémon products… the holidays are upon us! Costco hasn’t even shown off their holiday Pokemon offering yet! I’m betting it’s going to be something good. Like a 151 collection box with 12 packs good.

I’m also wondering when Costco will put in place an across the board restriction on the number of product a person can buy this holiday season. I mean they really need to because the scalping situation is definitely out of control. Scalpers are already selling $38 tin boxes for $100 online. I don’t think Costco wants to be the supply depot for scalpers rather than the warehouse for ALL members.

Anyway, the point is everyone should do their best to be polite and not start a fist fight over shiny carboard in a Costco. Don’t buy entire pallets of product, be reasonable, and leave some behind for others. Your wallet will thank you and random Pokemon collectors will thank you.

And if you’re a scalper… just stop…
