WWII in the Pacific, on the American Heroes Channel (owned by Discovery), is not truly deceptive.
Nor is it extremely nationalistic. This isn’t Putin’s Russia here.
But WWII in the Pacific does have a distinctly one sided, old American, view of the conflict.
They don’t downright lie, they tell the facts, but from a skewed perspective and I think that is something you need to be aware of when watching shows like this.
There’s always an urge, when making documentaries that deal with politics and war, to tell things how you see it. While it isn’t possible to be completely objective, that is the goal.
A goal that I don’t think was achieved here.
