It seems that Walmart’s Pokemon Black Friday deal is Tyranitar and Tsareena collections for $20. That $20 gets you 2 packs of Twilight Masquerade, 2 packs of Temporal Forces, and 2 packs packs of Paradox Rift. There are also 3 promo cards, a display case, and a pack of card sleeves.
As far as value goes this is not a great Black Friday deal. Walmart is messing with you. $20 for 6 packs comes out to $3.33 per pack. Which is basically the average price of Pokemon packs. A real deal is $2 per back or even less. That’s the Black Friday deal you want, but apparently are not going to get. So mark these sets down as another false promise.
Walmart Black Friday Deal

I will say it’s nice that all the packs included in the boxes are recent. New cards for youngsters are better than the old cards they already know. That makes these boxes better Christmas gifts even if they’re not the best value. Heck maybe that’s why they aren’t offering a bigger discount on a per pack basis, because these packs are from newer sets. I don’t know.
What I do know is that Walmart’s Pokemon offering is a bit of a dud this year and we’ve got to wait and see what Target does with their Pokemon offering for Black Friday. I’m kind of wondering if Costco’s 5 pack tin boxes of 151 are its Black Friday offering? I mean that’d be early… Maybe they have something else up their sleeve. We should be hearing about both Target and Costco in maybe a week or two so that’s something to look forward to!
I wouldn’t buy these collections when they come out and would wait to see what Costco and Target are doing but that’s just me. You might like them though! These boxes do offer some value and would make pretty good Christmas presents after all.
But remember, Prismatic Evolutions is now available for pre order! Do you really want to buy a less than stellar box when if you wait you can have something great?
